The Buddha's qualities are the virtues of the Buddha that arise from developing life through the practice of perfections, continually accumulating merit until attaining enlightenment as a fully self-awakened One by His own power. These qualities comprise nine noble virtues, called the Nine Buddha Qualities, namely:

1. Arahat, one free from defilements

2. Sammāsambuddho, the one who has realized all the true Dharma rightly by himself

3. Vijjā-cārana-sampanno, endowed with wisdom and conduct

4. Sukato, gone to the good

5. Lokavidū, the knower of the whole world

6. Anuttaro purisadamma-sārathi, the unsurpassed trainer of persons in the Dharma; there is none more excellent by virtue

7. Satthā devamanussānaṁ, the Teacher of gods and humans

8. Buddho, the one who has realized all truths

9. Bhagavā, the destroyer of defilements
