A third party inspects the robustness of the EA backtest
The performance of an Expert Advisor (EA) that you created yourself is hard for you to doubt. We will review your backtest report using fixed criteria to determine whether the results are not a coincidence, and return with a findings document.
【For whom this is intended】
・People who want a third-party check of EA performance before selling it
・People who have multiple candidates remaining after optimization and are unsure which to adopt
・People who want to identify, from the perspective of backtesting, why they did not win in actual operation
【Scope of inspection】
We will inspect with our self-made inspection tool “EA Robustness Check,” interpret the results with human judgment, and write up the findings.
・When excluding a few large wins, does the total become negative?
・Considering the number of settings tested via optimization, can it still be distinguished from random (adjusting for the number of trials)?
・Does it hold in both the early and later periods?
・Are profits earned from only one side of buying or selling?
・How far could drawdown swell depending on the order of trades?
・Would profits remain after accounting for the costs on an actual account?
In addition to the tool's assessment, we will explain in writing the background numbers “why it is so” and what to verify next.
【Deliverables】
1. Inspection Findings Report (PDF, 4–6 pages): overall assessment, findings, points to be mindful of, what to verify next
2. Inspection Tool Results (HTML): details per the report we received and a comparison table
【What you should prepare】
・Up to 3 MT5 strategy tester reports (HTML format). To be used for comparing different periods with the same settings, different currency pairs, or candidate configurations
・Approximate number of settings tested via optimization
・Estimated costs and spreads for actual trading accounts
・A brief description of the EA (trend-following or mean-reversion, which timeframe, etc.)
The main EA program files (ex5, mq5) are not required. We will perform the inspection using only the reports.
【Delivery time】
After receiving the request and the report, we will deliver within 3 business days.
【Regarding listing on the sales page】
If you are selling an EA, you may state that it has undergone inspection on your sales page. When you do so, please phrase it so that the fact that you had the inspection by Skijan (GogoJungle Skill Share) and the date of inspection are clear. The final content will be verified during the sales page review.
Example wording: “Backtesting for this product (from Year XX Month to Year YY Month) has undergone Skijan Robustness Inspection (inspected in Year ZZ Month).”
If the inspection results are not good, they cannot be changed. The criteria for judgment are fixed and identical for all requests.
【Notes】
・The inspection examines the statistical properties of past backtests you provided. It does not guarantee future performance.
・We do not recommend or urge purchases of specific symbols, methods, or EAs. We also do not provide recommended parameter values.
・The submitted reports are used only for inspection and are not disclosed to third parties. They will be deleted 30 days after delivery.
・The inspection targets are MT5 Strategy Tester's reports. MT4 or account trading history are not supported.
【Price】
14,800 yen (tax included) for up to 3 reports with findings
For those who want to inspect themselves, we also offer a set of the inspection tool and a guide (4,980 yen, sold on GogoJungle).
